Tripod Mount

Model 10X9-180

Simply screw the support bracket (2) onto a tripod and fit the chamber into the spring clip as shown above. The chamber stem can be rotated in the clip to achieve the desired measurement direction when using "pancake" style chambers such as the 60 and 180cc chambers.

Note: The 60cc chamber requires the 6231m support to be fitted prior to mounting in the clip.

Hand Support

Model 10X9-180

Fit the handle (5) to the support bracket (2) with screw (3) using the Allen key (4). This converts a Radcal chamber usually 180 or 1800cc into a survey type hand held instrument as shown above.

Note: When making very low level leakage measurements over a prolonged period, it is preferable to support the chamber on a tripod.

Warning: Only make hand held measurements in areas where the radiation dose has been estimated to be less than the permitted personnel exposure level.

Use with Radcal Converter 9060

Model Converter 9060

When using the Universal Chamber Holder to support 10X5 series chambers that are directly connected to a 9060 converter, the converter support bracket (1) should be added. The bracket (1) and the handle (5) incorporates a location pin. When the screw (3) is tightened the converter support bracket (1) will be firmly in place. Before fitting a chamber, connect it to the converter and slacken the plastic threaded ring that is located between the connector and converter housing. The resulting assembly ensures that the weight of the converter is not transferred to the chamber connector.
